About Web GIS with ArcGIS Online
Instructor-Led, In-Person course
Dates: May 14-15, 2026
Location: West Virginia University, Brooks Hall
This two-day course is designed to get you started with web GIS using the ESRI ArcGIS Online platform. You will learn to connect to data, publish data from ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS Online, symbolize data, configure pop-ups, and make web and mobile apps using a variety of methods. After completing this short course, you will be able to generate web maps and apps for a specific purpose.
First Day: Web Data and Configurable Apps
· Connect to map service
· Create apps using a template
· Configure pop-ups
· Change symbology
· Publish from ArcGIS Pro
· Create hosted feature layers
Second Day: Web and Mobile Apps
· Create apps using ArcGIS Experience Builder
· Add maps to an existing webpage

COURSE PREREQUISITES: GIS Foundations or equivalent experience preferred.
WORKSHOP MATERIALS: Materials will be provided digitally by the instructor.
PARKING: Parking permits will be provided to those who request them through the registration form. Additional fees may be required.
MEALS AND BEVERAGES: Meals and beverages are not provided for this event. There will be designated times for lunch, but attendees must furnish their own meals and beverages for the day. Beverage use is restricted while in the computer labs.
CANCELLATION POLICY: WVAGP policy requires a minimum of 8 registrations to confirm a course. If the threshold is not met by EOB on Friday, May 1st, 2026, the course will be cancelled and all fees refunded. If a student is unable to attend, cancellation prior to May 1st, 2026 will be provided a full refund. You must contact WVAGP directly for the cancellation.
