About GeoAI & Data Readiness
GeoAI & Data Readiness is a four-hour, online instructor-led training session focused on preparing GIS data, governance practices, and workflows for GeoAI. This course is facilitated by Simply Spatial and will include participant exercises based on relevant data patterns and a practical data-readiness framework for organizational use. Attendees will use their existing ArcGIS Online access under a Bring-Your-Own-License model.
Course Objectives
At the completion of this training, attendees will be able to:
1. Assess current GIS data quality, metadata completeness, and governance gaps against AI readiness needs.
2. Structure data, schemas, and workflows so they hold up under GeoAI and automation, not just human review.
3. Determine where GIS and IT responsibilities meet on data stewardship, and how to structure that handoff.
4. Apply exercises using participants' own data patterns rather than a generic sample dataset.
5. Bring a practical data readiness framework to their own organization to assess data readiness immediately.

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Must have prior ArcGIS experience.

If the threshold is not met by EOB on Friday, October 9th, 2026, the course will be cancelled and all fees refunded. If a student is unable to attend, cancellation prior to Friday, October 9th, 2026 will be provided a full refund. You must contact WVAGP directly for the cancellation.
